House of Artkisan is a purpose-driven initiative inspired by the fusion of two integral pillars of India’s heritage: artisanship and agriculture. The name “Artkisan” reflects this synergy—bringing together the creativity of artisans and the resilience of farmers.

Our mission is to build a sustainable ecosystem within rural India by empowering local communities.

We encourage Artkisans to source fabrics readily available in their villages and transform them through their own creativity into functional, everyday products for urban living.

Our product range includes thoughtfully crafted items such as bags made from cotton bedsheets, coasters and glass covers created from machardani fabric—a widely used and essential material in rural households—and table runners repurposed from sarees, among others. Each piece embodies resourcefulness, cultural authenticity, and practical design. At the core of House of Artkisan is a commitment to empowerment and fair trade. We strive to enable every villager to recognize their potential and create sustainable livelihoods, supported by a system that values ethical practices and equitable opportunities. Our designs are made with care, emphasizing simplicity, elegance, and reusability. By prioritizing eco-friendly materials and mindful production, we aim to deliver products that are not only beautiful but also responsible.
